I am Mary Kelly, singer with Your Father's Mustache Band in beautiful Denver, Colorado. The Mustache Band is a traditional jazz band, which means we play just about everything that was popular in the 1920's, 30's and 40's, including Dixieland, Ragtime, Big Band standards and Swing Music. We even throw in some Country-Western or old Rock 'n Roll now and then.

The Mustache Band has been playing in Denver (with a couple of the original guys) since the 1970's when it originated at a nightclub called Your Father's Mustache which closed after a few years in business. We currently have eight regular members and usually some sit-ins. I sang with the band as a young thing for several of the early years, then I left Denver for 15 years and when I came back, they were still going strong so I joined them again and have been with them since.

Even though I sing jazz, I grew up listening to country music and was a singer-songwriter in Nashville for several years before I returned to Colorado, so in June of 2005, I went back to Nashville and recorded a CD of the classic country hits I heard on the radio when I was growing up. This collection of tunes by women such as Kitty Wells, Patsy Cline, Connie Frances and others is set for release in August of 2006.

If you're interested in my rather chaotic life story, it is presented here in words and pictures. Just click on the link above to the bio.
